Terms of Service & Repair Warranty Policy

Welcome to SMS Cellphone Repair. By using our website, booking a repair, or purchasing products or services from us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa and aligned with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

  1. General Term
    SMS Cellphone Repair provides:
  • Mobile phone repairs
  • Replacement parts and accessories
  • Online product sales

By proceeding with a repair or purchase, the customer agrees to these terms and conditions.

2. Repair Services

Before any repair:

  • Devices are inspected as far as reasonably possible.
  • Pre-existing damage may be noted.
  • Customers approve repair costs before work begins.

All repairs are carried out professionally and tested before collection.

3. Screen Repair Warranty (CPA Compliant)

In accordance with Section 55 and 56 of the South African Consumer Protection Act:

All screen replacements include a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects only.

This warranty covers:

  • Display failure due to internal defect
  • Touch malfunction not caused by damage
  • Factory-related faults

If a screen is found to be defective within 6 months (and shows no signs of physical damage), it may be repaired or replaced in line with CPA requirements.

4. What Is Not Covered Under Warranty

The warranty does NOT cover:

  • Cracked or physically damaged screens
  • Impact or drop damage
  • Liquid damage
  • Pressure damage (e.g., sitting on device, heavy objects)
  • Negligence or misuse
  • Tampering or third-party repair attempts
  • Damage occurring after device collection

Once a device leaves our premises in confirmed working condition, SMS Cellphone Repair cannot be held responsible for physical damage that occurs thereafter.

5. Parts Disclaimer

  • SMS Cellphone Repair does not manufacture replacement screens or parts.
  • Parts are sourced from third-party suppliers and wholesalers.
  • All parts are tested during installation.

If a part is found to be faulty during installation, it will be replaced before the device is returned to the customer.

6. Customer Responsibility

Upon collection of the device, the customer confirms that:

  • The device has been inspected.
  • The screen and functions are working correctly.
  • They accept the condition of the device at time of collection.

Customers are responsible for the care and handling of the device after collection.

7. Limitation of Liability

SMS Cellphone Repair shall not be liable for:

  • Pre-existing internal faults
  • Data loss during repair
  • Undisclosed prior damage
  • Consequential or indirect losses

Customers are advised to back up all data before submitting devices for repair.

8. Online Store Terms

For products purchased online:

  • Prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR).
  • Orders are subject to stock availability.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders due to pricing or stock errors.
  • Returns for physical products are handled in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.

 

 

 

 

 

9. Amendments

 

SMS Cellphone Repair reserves the right to update or amend these terms at any time without prior notice.
